Ottawa, Dec. 12 (BNA): The Non-Resident Ambassador of Bahrain to Canada, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, held a reception celebrating Bahrain's National Days, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini State as an Arab and Muslim state, founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.
The celebrations coincide with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Canada.
The ceremony was attended by the Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, Arctic, Middle East and Maghreb at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, Sandra McCardell, and a number of senior officials in the military, diplomatic and political corps, and representatives of the Canadian House of Representatives and Senate.
Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah extended his utmost congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, as well as to Bahraini people on this special occasion.
The ambassador lauded the Bahraini-Canadian relations, appreciating Canada’s stances in supporting international peace and security and noted its commitment to maritime security.
He affirmed that under the leadership of HM the King, and with the constant follow up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom achieved many national accomplishments this year.
