Emirates ID wins Ideas UK's Golden Award for organisational suggestions
Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Identity Authority has won the Golden Shield for the Best Organisational Suggestion Scheme granted by IdeasUK. Emirates ID's suggestion scheme has obtained the highest evaluation rates by the Award's judging panel.
Emirates ID's winning of the international prize came in appreciation of its work systems which aim at boosting employees' initiatives and encourage them to participate in performance development through their innovative ideas and creative suggestions.
The award shield was handed over during IdeasUK's 27th Annual Conference 2013 held in Cardiff, U.K. The shield was received by Omar Al Maamari, Director of Service Centres Support Department and Ismail Al Belushi, Director of Ras al-Khaimah Customer Service Centre, in the presence of delegations from around the globe.
The award's judging panel commended Emirates ID's suggestion system which achieved record rates in terms of the average number of suggestions submitted by each employee, of which 10% are applicable although it started only two years ago.
The committee also highly evaluated Emirates ID's future plans for developing the processes and the electronic system of its suggestion scheme in addition to the role it plays in enhancing communication between employees and all organisational units.
Emirates ID's suggestion system is an online interactive platform for submitting ideas. It ensures all organisational suggestions are studied, discussed and followed up for execution according to mechanisms that secure optimum application of these innovative and creative ideas and the honouring of their owners under supervision of the Quality Control Department.
Nasser Al Abdouli, Director of Service Centres Support at Emirates ID, stressed the Authority's ongoing keenness to adopt best global practices in the field of organisational suggestion systems. The aim is to support Emirates ID's march towards excellence, upgrade its performance and provide best services to internal and external customers.
He added that the new achievement represents the directives of Emirates ID's Board of Directors and follow-up by its higher management to double efforts in order to boost its competitiveness as a government entity locally and globally and actively contribute in realising UAE Vision 2021.
Emirates ID won the award after passing an audit phase carried out by the association's auditors to its organisational suggestion system implemented through strategic support and organisational excellence department in order to motivate employees to submit their suggestions and ideas aimed at developing work environment, elevating customers' satisfaction level and improving performance and productivity of employees.
Emirates ID honoured 20 of its employees who submitted the best suggestions during 2013 in all its sectors, organisational unites and service centres across country. The honouring is in line with Emirates ID's higher management keenness to motivate its employees, develop their innovative thinking and encourage them to implement the values of creativity. The aim is to optimise investment in people towards achieving Emirates ID's mission, vision and objectives and elevate its institutional performance. – Emirates News Agency, WAM
