ERC implements humanitarian programmes in Kazakhstan

ABU DHABI, 19th March, 2015 (WAM) -- Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERC) has implemented a number of humanitarian programmes to assist needy families in Kazakhstan, including provision of sewing machines to those to help them improve their economic condition. The ERC also provided assistance in kind and cash to families according to their basic requirements, among others, heating fuel to alleviate the cold, especially in winter months. It carried out humanitarian programmes to support the most vulnerable, such as people with disabilities and elderly groups in Kazakh towns and villages. The ERC provided financial assistance to students from low-income families to help them continue their studies. Saeed Suhail Al Mazrouei, Director of the Department of International Aid at the ERC, said, "These programmes come in the context of the ERC's continuous humanitarian efforts in Kazakhstan to assist vulnerable groups to help them cope with difficult living conditions by giving them production tools to rely on themselves." – Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/international/1395278148657.html
