ERC launches Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's 6th project for victims of incidents in Yemen

ABU DHABI, 4th January, 2016 (WAM) -- The UAE Red Crescent, ERC, has launched the 6th project of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and Honorary Chairwoman of the ERC in Yemen. The project includes building of 50 dams at Rasd directorate in Abyan to collect rain water and benefit from it around the year as part of her directives to improve living conditions of the people affected by the developments in Yemen as well as alleviating their suffering. In a press release, the ERC said as directed by H.H. Sheikha Fatima the work on these projects is progressing at a fast pace, noting that the projects have been carefully studied and meet the needs of the Yemenis in a number of important and vital sectors. The ERC also said that provision of water sources in Yemen is one of its priorities at the moment to improve living conditions of the inhabitants in remote villages and regions that face a lot of challenges, particularly scarcity of drinking water. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395289897944.html
