ERC projects to improve mother and child services in Yemen

ABU DHABI, 12th November 2015 (WAM) On the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU) and the Family Development Foundation (FDF), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC) and Honorary Chairwoman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority (ERC), the Authority is embarking on a massive programme to develop several projects in Aden and neighbouring provinces in Yemen. These projects are aimed at improving mother and child services, covering vital sectors such as healthcare, education, water and electricity, and developing the capabilities of Yemeni women, who are the most affected by the current situation. The projects will also focus on supporting people with special needs and other humanitarian aspects. Further, Sheikha Fatima ordered speedy implementation of the projects to provide care for mothers and children and ease their suffering due to the current developments there.
