ERC provides assistance to poor and needy families in Kazakhstan
Abu Dhabi, December 24, 2014 (WAM): The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has provided, through its office in Kazakhstan, aid and subsidies to a number of poor families, students and the disabled people in several towns and villages in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The move came as part of the directives of the ERC Authority to increase the number of beneficiaries who gain from its productivity projects and its monthly allocations for the disabled and the students, the elderly and poor families to help them cope with the demands of life.
Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the international aid, said that the ERC is keen to expand the number of those benefitting from its services in 14 countries, where it has offices, as well as in other countries by delegating relief provided by the Authority, which is always ready to move to any affected area to provide support and assistance, especially shelter, food and medicine.
Al Shamsi said that there were also a number of developmental and productive projects and infrastructure projects undertaken by the ERC authority in a large number of countries, which are exposed to disasters, crises, conflicts or wars that result in destruction of infrastructure and displacement of thousands of civilians. Such relief is granted within the framework of the main objectives of the ERC, that of safeguarding the human beings' right to life and dignity. – Emirates News Agency, WAM -http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395274236974.html
