EU Welcomes Saudi Initiative to End Yemeni Crisis

Brussels, March 23, 2021, SPA – The European Union has welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative to end the Yemeni crisis and reach a comprehensive political solution. Spokesperson for the External Affairs of the EU in Brussels Peter Stano said in a statement on Monday that the Union highlights the importance of the initiative as a positive step towards peace, noting that the European Union encourages all parties to cooperate with the UN Special Envoy to immediately announce a ceasefire and launch a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the UN. Stano also renewed the European Union’s stance that reaching a comprehensive political agreement is still the only solution to end the crisis in Yemen. --SPA
