EWA mobile application wins Best M-Government Service Award

Manama, Feb. 10 (BNA): Mobile Application of Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) has won the Best M-Government Service Award, which was organised by Dubai Government under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Shaikh Mohammed presented the award to EWA Chief Executive officer Shaikh Nawaf bin Ebrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Ceremony was conducted as part of the World Government Summit, held in Dubai on February 8-10. The "Best m-Government Service Award" is an annual award that stems directly from the newly launched Smart Government vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The award aims to stimulate and encourage government entities to provide creative and innovative solutions via smart phone applications, mobile phones and smart wearable technologies. It will also ensure access to government services around the clock that are easy, efficient and transparent to meet the public needs and exceed their expectations. The "Best m-Government Service Award" is open for UAE Federal government Entities and local government entities in addition to governments from the Arab region and the World. EWA Mobile Application allows users to pay bills, view bills and payments history, receive notifications for outstanding bills, submit meter readings, report high consumption, update contact details and modify bill delivery methods.
