Falling Rain most popular song among Thais

BANGKOK, Nov 12 (TNA) -- A survey revealed His Majesty late King Bhumibol's song 'Falling Rain', is the Thai people's most favourite song out all the songs composed and written by His late Majesty. A poll by the Siam Technology Internet Research Institute has reported the general knowledge of the people in Bangkok and its peripheral area on HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's songs between November 6-11 from a random sample of 1,189 persons, comprising of 50.63 per cent female and 49.37 per cent male population age 15 years old and up. The survey found that the top five favourite songs of His late Majesty are as follow, Falling Rain at 86.54 per cent, HM Blues at 84.95 per cent, Near Dawn at 82.51 per cent, Love at Sundown at 80.15 per cent, and Candlelight Blues at 76.87 per cent. When asked about what they have received from HM late King Bhumibol's songs, the top three answers were happiness at 84.52 per cent, 82.42 per cent said they felt closer to the monarchy, and 79.65 per cent they were able to learn of His late Majesty's talents through the songs. Meanwhile, 79.48 per cent said if schools were to teach students of His late Majesty's songs, it would encourage youths to learn more about King Bhumibol and His works. At the same time 76.87 per cent expressed that King Bhumibol's songs have helped to create unity among the public. While 86.04 per cent agreed with the government's plan to give out free CDs of His late Majesty's songs as souvenirs. (TNA)
