FDPM announces the end of the registration period for the 2018 - 2019 FDPM Fellowship

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (OFDPM) has announced the end of the registration period for the fourth edition of the FDPM Fellowship. Based on the vision of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and in line with the principles of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, this unique programme aims to further develop the public sector by investing in training for Bahrain’s national cadre within government. Speaking on the occasion, the OFDPM Director-General, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa praised Bahrain’s youth for their outstanding contributions to the Kingdom’s progress, in line with King Hamad’s vision for comprehensive development. His Excellency added that Bahrain’s youth are the main engine of the economy and a core component of government strategies led by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and supported by HRH the Crown Prince. His Excellency noted that the FDPM Fellowship, which receives enthusiastic support from HRH the Crown Prince and is now in its fourth year, has witnessed a high number of registrations. His Excellency added that, due to the success of the previous three editions of the Fellowship, the OFDPM has strengthened the programme’s role in line with the government’s development goals. His Excellency praised the skills and competencies of the previous fellows, explained the importance of ensuring these individuals retain their skills after the end of each programme, and expressed hope that the fourth intake will continue the success of the previous three years. During the registration period for the FDPM Fellowship’s fourth year, which began on 4 March and ended on 2 April, more than 500 applications were registered through the Fellowship website. All applications will be thoroughly assessed to identify the strongest candidates, who will in turn undergo to a rigorous selection process involving face-to-face interviews and skills-based testing before a final decision is made. The successful applicants to the fourth FDPM Fellowship will begin the programme with a mandatory course at the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA). The FDPM Fellowship is an ambitious programme that refines and cultivates the abilities of Bahraini nationals working in the public sector. The programme provides extensive training in leadership, research, analysis, report writing and policy making, as well as contributing to the implementation of programmes associated with the Government Action Plan.
