Fifth Emirates Red Crescent delegation distributes relief aid in Gaza

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The fifth Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) delegation chaired by Humaid Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the ERC for International Aid Affairs, yesterday distributed the U.A.E. relief aid, which arrived here yesterday in seven trucks. The relief aid, which included food stuff, health materials, blankets, children's milk and potable water, was distributed in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent and The International Committee of the Red Cross. Al Shamsi expressed his happiness to carry out the task of distribution of aid to people affected by the events in the Gaza Strip, especially the elderly and children, stressing that the people of Gaza deserve every assistance and help. He said in a statement during the distribution of aid that the ERC performs an intensive relief programme to the people of Gaza, adding that it has so far distributed more than 150,000 relief parcels since the start of the events. He explained that the aid this time has been allocated to children and women. For his part, Emad Abu Laban, Director of the ERC in Gaza said that it distributed aid to 500 families in the presence of the head of the U.A.E. delegation Humaid Al Shamsi, pointing out that the distribution would be completed in the coming days, in partnership with the Palestinian Red Crescent and The International Committee of the Red Cross. – Emirates News Agency, WAM http://www.wam.ae/en/news/general/1395268488307.html
