Fine Arts Department ready to build royal urn for late King’s cremation ceremony
BANGKOK, November 15 (TNA) - The Fine Arts Department, under the Thai Ministry of Culture, is ready to make the royal urn in preparation for the cremation ceremony of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
After a tree-cutting ceremony was conducted on 12 sandalwood trees, selected by officials from the Bureau of the Royal Household on November 14, Fine Arts Department Director-General Anan Chuchote told journalists that his department's Office of Traditional Arts is now designing the royal urn in the Thai traditional style and has assigned craftmen for the work.
After Monday's Brahmin ceremony on November 14, the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation will later cut the trees from the Kui Buri National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in the Upper Thai South for procession before taking the fragrant wood to the craftsmen to make the royal urn for the cremation ceremony of the late and beloved Thai King.
