Fine Arts students create wall paintings in honour of late Thai King

BANGKOK, October 17 (TNA) - Students from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, have joined hands to create spectacular wall paintings under the theme, "The Great Artist", in honour of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The students have joined hearts and hands to draw a set of 10 portraits of late His Majesty the King in various actions, each sized 2 x 2.30 metres, including paintings of the late beloved and revered Thai monarch playing piano and sailing. All of the portraits, once completed, will be linked on the university's front wall opposite the Grand Palace in the capital to pay their last respect to the beloved Thai King. A sophomore student told journalists on Monday that the paintings began on October 14 and all students are determined to do their best to complete the works with as much exquisiteness as possible. Late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyaej, the world's longest-reigned Thai King, passed away peacefully at Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital last Thursday afternoon (October 13) at the age of 89. (TNA)
