First Deputy Speaker receives Chinese ambassador

Manama, Jan. 24 (BNA): First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman received Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Anwar Habibullah. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation in all levels, especially parliamentary level. The first deputy speaker praised the deep Bahraini-Chinese ties and the progress in the two countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Xi Jin Ping. He affirmed that China plays an important role in stability, peace, and development regionally and internationally. Salman affirmed the keenness to develop parliamentary cooperation and economic, investment, trade, service and development projects, especially since China is the largest trading partner of the Kingdom. The ambassador expressed his appreciation to the first deputy speaker for the efforts made to enhance diplomatic and parliamentary cooperation, the development that is witnessed in Bahrain in light of HM King’s reform project and stressed his country's keenness to support it.
