First solar panels factory on way

Manama, Sep. 21 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza received Solar One GM Rami Khalifa in the presence of a number of officials at the Sustainable Energy Unit. The minister praised company's efforts to open the first and the biggest solar panels plant in the Arabian Gulf, citing the main objective of the Sustainable Energy Unit to encourage investment on renewable energy production and the manufacturing of solar panels. Dr. Mirza was briefed about the company's plans to manufacture 60,000 solar panels in the Kingdom of Bahrain, each panel has the capacity to produce 250 watts.
