Flights to be escorted by air marshals in Turkey

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 15 / Trend R.Hafizoglu /
In Turkey, flights will be escorted by armed police, the Turkish newspaper 'Sabah' reported on Monday referring to the Chief Directorate of Civil Aviation.
According to the report, flights will be escorted after amendments are made to the law on 'Civil Aviation' come into force.
Under the new law, any suspicious passenger will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
According to the bill, the Turkish Air Forces will have the right to intervene in issues related to any threats that may occur in the air.
Concerning which flights will be escorted by armed police, the decision will be taken by the Chief Directorate of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish National Intelligence Organisation (MİT).
The decision to use weapons to prevent hazards that may arise while the aircraft is in the air will be taken by the air marshal on board. Any technical problems that may occur during the use of weapons will be reimbursed by the airlines of the country.
