Foreign Affairs Minister meets Qatari counterpart

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met this morning with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly State of Qatar, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, currently on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. At the outset of the meeting, the Minister congratulated his Qatari counterpart, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, on his appointment Minister of Foreign Affairs of the brotherly State of Qatar and wished him success. Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed described the close fraternal ties linking the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar as an exemplary model worth emulating. He noted that they are "based on common history and rooted relations" in addition to the tremendous care accorded to them by the two wise leaderships with the aim of propelling them to broader horizons for the benefit of the two friendly countries and peoples For his part, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani hailed the distinguished Bahrain-Qatari relations, affirming common keenness on furthering them on all levels and wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further development and progress. The meeting also saw coordination of views and discussed a number of topics relating to ways of reinforcing the GCC joint action and the stability of the region as well as how to confront the many challenges facing the Gulf States and peoples.
