Foreign Minister and Prince Charles attend Remembrance Day service

Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): In the presence of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, today participated in a Remembrance Day service organised by the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Bahrain. The service honoured the British and allied countries' soldiers who lost their lives in the first and second world wars and other conflicts.
The Remembrance Day service was attended by the UK Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Simon Martin, Defence Attaché, Lt Col Andy Price, the Dean of St Christopher’s Cathedral, the Very Reverend Chris Butt, the Mission to Seafarers Chaplain, the Reverend Stephen Thanapaul, and the Royal Navy Chaplain to Bahrain, the Reverend Nigel Beardsley Royal Navy.
The service began with two minutes’ silence, after which His Royal Highness Prince Charles laid a wreath at a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives in the First World War.
During the service, His Excellency the Foreign Minister stressed that Remembrance Day serves to remind the world of the human suffering war inflicts and that the international community must continuously strive to ensure lasting peace is secured.
The UK’s Ambassador to Bahrain expressed his sincere appreciation to the Foreign Minister for his supportive words and participation in the service, and wished Bahrain lasting progress and prosperity.
