Foreign Minister attends Bahraini-UK Joint Working Group meeting

London, Oct.17 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, currently on official visit to the UK, met Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa at the UK Foreign Office Dr. Andrew Morrison. During the meeting, the minister affirmed the depth of the historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which date back more than two hundred year, based on respect, mutual respect, joint action and close bilateral cooperation. He took pride in the development of friendship relations at all levels, praising the important role played by the United Kingdom in maintaining security and stability in the region and the world. For his part, Dr. Morrison praised the progress of the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and their continuous keenness to coordinate together on various issues to improve the level of cooperation in various fields and meet common aspirations, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity. During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas and means of pushing forward efforts to consolidate security, peace and stability in the region, seek peaceful solutions to its crises and overcome the challenges facing its countries and peoples. In a related context, the twelfth meeting of the Joint Bahraini-British Working Group was co-chaired by Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, from the Bahraini side, and Dr. Andrew Morrison from the British side. The meeting witnessed massive participation and representation of a large number of ministries and government institutions from the Kingdom of Bahrain They reviewed the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom and ways of consolidating to broader levels in various fields to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. Shaikh Khalid and Dr. Morrison signed the joint statement of the twelfth meeting of the Joint Bahraini-UK Joint Working Group.
