Foreign minister expresses pride in Al-Hamar's honouring

Manama, Apr. 4 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, expressed his pride in honouring Nabil bin Yaqoob Al Hamar in recognition of his constant efforts in the development of Arab media, noting that it is a tribute to Bahrain. The minister emphasised the outstanding level that the Bahraini press has reached regionally and internationally, as it assures a bright era and enjoys a wide space of freedoms that aims towards further progress and prosperity. This came as Shaikh Khalid attended the honouring ceremony of the winners of the Arab Journalism Award for 2018, which was held today in Dubai under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which is part of the activities of the Arab Media Forum, with the participation of a number of media professionals, and representatives of many Arab and international channels. HH Shaikh Mohammad presented the "Media Personality of the Year" award to Nabil bin Yaqoob Al Hamar, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Media Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ayam newspaper. Shaikh Khalid said that the Arab Journalism Award is an important initiative that reflects the keenness of HH Shaikh Mohammed to encourage creativity in the Arab press in order to continue their contributions and to fulfill their mission in building active and knowledgeable personalities capable of contributing to the process of civilizational building for both its nation and its society.
