Foreign Minister holds talks with UK Prime Minister’s Special Representative

Manama, Feb.13 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani held today a discussions session with the Prime Minister’s Special Representative and the Minister of State for South and Central Asia, United Nations, and the Commonwealth at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Lord Ahmed Tariq Ahmad, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides discussed the distinguished friendly relations between Bahrain and the UK, which are constantly developing at all levels, and the means to enhance cooperation in vital areas for the benefit of the two countries.
They also discussed the comprehensive development efforts exerted by the esteemed government in all fields, namely in the field of sustainable development, protection, and promotion of human rights, combating trafficking in persons, and ways to develop joint cooperation in this field and other areas that would strengthen the partnership and close historical friendship between the two friendly countries.
The two sides stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts and enhancing bilateral cooperation in all vital fields in an affirmation of the solid relations between the two countries.
The discussion session saw the participation of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UK, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Director General of Ministry Affairs, Talal Abdulsalam Al-Ansari, and the Ambassador of the UK to Bahrain, Roderick Drummond and the Minister’s accompanying delegation for the British side.
