Foreign minister meets Turkmen, Yemeni counterparts

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, on the sidelines of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the growing bilateral relations in all fields, noting the valuable outcomes of the visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Turkmenistan where he held key talks with President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, which led to the signing of several agreements supporting joint cooperation between the two countries. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits between the officials of both countries to further develop cooperation at all levels to achieve their common interest. For his part, the Turkmen Premier and Foreign Minister hailed the distinguished course of relations between the two countries which reflects their keenness to develop bilateral cooperation and joint coordination. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Hadhrami. Shaikh Khalid expressed the Kingdom’s pride in its solid brotherly relations with the Republic of Yemen, affirming its keenness to enhance these relations in all fields. He also reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm stance alongside its brothers in the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to reach a peaceful solution that preserves the unity, sovereignty and security of Yemen and fulfil the aspirations of the Yemeni people. For his part, the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs valued the brotherly stances of the Kingdom and its continued support to the Republic of Yemen, noting its efforts to achieve peace and enhance stability.
