Foreign Minister meets UN General Assembly President

New York, Oct. 2 (BNA): Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa met with President of the UN General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the General Assembly meetings. Shaikh Khalid congratulated Mr. Mogens Lykketoft on being elected as President of the General Assembly, wishing him success in bolstering its role to face current challenges and problems. He also praised the efforts and initiatives of the General Assembly to deal effectively with various challenges facing the world nowadays. He affirmed Bahrain’s continuous policy to support the UN and cooperate with it to boost international security and peace.
