Foreign minister meets UN secretary-general

New York, Sep. 23 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, and their wishes of success in managing UN affairs at this important period for all world countries. These remarks came during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the United Nations on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The minister congratulated Guterres again on the trust of the International Community that led to his nomination to the post of UN Secretary General at a time the world organisation is facing extra burdens and increasing tasks, especially in terms of peacekeeping, preservation of security and peace and achievement of international cooperation at multiple levels in lights of its capabilities and potentials to confront challenges and seek appropriate solutions to all developments.
