Foreign Minister participates in ministerial conference on Yemen

New York, Sept. 25 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in the Ministerial Conference to Support the Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan and Alleviate the Suffering of the Yemeni People, held in New York at the invitation of Saudi Arabia, the United States and the United Nations. They discussed the humanitarian situation in the Republic of Yemen and ways of helping the Yemeni people overcome this situation as well as exchanged views on provision of resources for the humanitarian response plan and mobilizing donor resources. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed a humanitarian funding agreement with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the presence Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations. It provided a check of $ 500 million to the United Nations Office as part of its continuing contributions to the Yemen humanitarian response plan part of its role in alleviating the suffering of the brotherly people of Yemen.
