Foreign Minister receives credentials copy of US Ambassador-Designate to Bahrain

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, today received, at the ministry’s headquarters, Steven C. Bondy, who presented a copy of his credentials as US Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed Steven Bondy, stressing the depth of the strong historical relations and strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United States. Dr. Zayani took pride and expressed appreciation over the progress of the ever-growing distinguished bilateral relations in various fields for the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, wishing the ambassador continued success in his diplomatic duties. For his part, the US Ambassador expressed pride in meeting Dr. Zayani, expressing happiness to have been appointed to serve in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He affirmed the US keenness to advance bilateral cooperation and joint coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain to broader levels in order to meet common aspirations, wishing the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity. The meeting was attended by US Embassy Chargé D'Affaires, Margaret Nardi, Acting Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs, Khalil Yaqoub Al-Khayat, Director General of Foreign Ministry Affairs, Talal Abdul Salam Al-Ansari and Chief of American Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa.
