Foreign minister receives former UN official

Manama, Mar. 22 (BNA) : Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received member of Ban Ki Moon International Centre for Global Citizens, the Former UN Undersecretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Kim Won-soo, in the presence of Chairman of the Supreme Health Council Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The minister praised Kim Won-soo's efforts in achieving the Millennium Development Goals and the UN objectives with regard to sustainable development and international peace and security. Shaikh Khalid reiterated Bahrain's keenness to support contributions to achieving these lofty goals in various areas, especially in the health field, and to open wider horizons for mutual cooperation and exchange of experiences for the good of all mankind, wishing Kim Won-soo success. Kim Won-soo took pride in visiting Bahrain and meeting the Foreign Minister and praised the role of the Kingdom in promoting development and stability in the region, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
