Foreign minister receives US Congress delegation

Manama, May 26 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received a delegation of US congressmen, led by Darrell Issa. The delegation, on an official visit to the kingdom, also includes Congressmen Stephen Lynch and Matthew Gaetz. The minister praised the historical and strategic relations between Bahrain and the United States of America and their continuous development at all levels, affirming the keenness of the Kingdom to promote the interests of the two friendly countries and meet the aspirations of their peoples. The delegation members expressed their sincere thanks for the gracious reception, praising the friendly relations between Bahrain and the US, which, they said, are based on cooperation, mutual respect and joint coordination on various issues, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity. The two sides exchanged views on the most important regional and international issues of mutual interest and means of enhancing security and peace in the region and across the world.
