Foreign Ministry Undersecretary chairs Bahrain-Brazilian Political Consultation Meeting

Brasilia, Sept. 18 (BNA): The Second Political Consultations Meeting between Bahrain and Brazil kicked off at the premises of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was held under the co-chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the Secretary of Bilateral Negotiations in the Middle East, Europe & Africa, Ambassador Félix Haczynski da Nóbrega. The two sides discussed cooperation aspects between the two friendly countries and means of supporting and developing the existing relations as well as coordinating positions on issues of common concern. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla affirmed Bahrain’s keen desire to establish close strategic relations with Brazil, hailing the outcomes of the first round of political consultations in the Kingdom last year as having paved the way for constructive partnership between the two friendly countries. He said the Kingdom looks forward to Brazil’s active participation in the implementation of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and highlighted the abundant promising investment opportunities in the kingdom. “This was the byproduct of the country’s ongoing efforts to diversify the national economy and focus on smart production sectors, entrepreneurship, renewable energy projects, banks and tourism,” he said. The undersecretary added that the Kingdom, being a gateway to the Gulf market and a center of finance and business and thanks to its significant incentives, motivating business environment and considerable logistical facilities, could benefit Brazilian investments companies. He hailed the joint efforts of the two friendly countries in combating and condemning all forms, manifestations and motives of terrorism and drying up its sources of funding in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla expressed his delight over the exhibited coordination and conformity of views between the two friendly countries during the round of political consultations and stressed the importance of cashing in on the common opportunities available for more mutual benefits. Ambassador da Nóbrega welcomed the positive outcome of the round of political consultations as a pivotal step to promote bilateral cooperation, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
