Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets UN Assistant Secretary-General

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA): Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs,. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met online today with the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States and the Assistant Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Khalida Bouzar. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain's pride in its close partnership with the United Nations and the signing of the framework for strategic cooperation and sustainable development between the two sides, with the aim of contributing to the realization of Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and the sustainable development goals. He stated that the Kingdom has provided all facilities for the work of the UN programs and offices in Bahrain. He also noted the importance of capacity-building and benefiting from the leading international expertise in line with the Government’s action plan. For her part, Mrs. Bouzar praised the distinguished role played by the Kingdom of Bahrain in strengthening cooperation with the United Nations. The meeting was attended by the Acting Chief of Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shaikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa.
