Foreign Ministry Undersecretary meets US official

Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met the U.S. Department of State Director of Policy Planning and Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary, Dr. Peter Berkowitz, on the sidelines of the 15th Manama Dialogue.
The two sides praised close historic relations and joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, and exchanged viewpoints on the latest regional and international developments in order to enhance security and stability.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is achieving a comprehensive and sustainable development at high rates within the framework of the rule of law, keeping pace with the digital economy and empowering all groups. He also highlighted His Majesty’s initiatives that support religious coexistence and the promotion of peace among all people.
He affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is an active international partner in combating terrorism and drying up its funding sources in addition to ensuring maritime and energy security, pointing in this regard to the Kingdom's recent hosting of several conferences and forums that addressed maritime security.
He pointed to the advanced status and the remarkable results achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the reports of the US State Department in the areas of religious freedoms, tolerance and combating terrorism, as the Kingdom is ranked among Tier 1 Status in report of the State Department on Trafficking in persons.
For his part, Dr. Berkowitz noted the development of friendly relations between the two countries at all levels, appreciating the tireless efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to establish security and stability in the region and combat terrorism, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
