Foreign Ministry Undersecretary receives US official

Manama, July 9 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, received at the Ministry’s General Court today, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Iran and Iraq, Andrew Peek, in the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the depth of the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, which are based on solid foundations, lauding the efforts of the United States in maintaining security and stability in the region. Mr. Peek praised the relations of friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, expressing his country's keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination with the Kingdom of Bahrain on various issues, wishing the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity. During the meeting, a number of issues and topics of common interest at the regional and international arenas were discussed. (MOFA)
