Foreign Ministry wins Network Middle East Innovation Award 2018

Dubai, May 2 (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs won the Network Middle East Innovation Award 2018 at its 14th session, in the category of the Unified Communication Implementation, for its Digital Transformation Project for Unified Communications Infrastructure in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic missions aboard, during a ceremony held by the ITP Group in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
On this occasion, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, said that this project comes as part of the efforts aimed at enhancing the use of digital diplomacy and meeting the objectives of the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030. She stated that this project has succeeded in reducing the operational costs of communications and enhancing the levels of cooperation, mobility and productivity among the teams deployed around the world. The Undersecretary added that the project aims at serving Bahraini citizens abroad and developing the quality of services provided to them, praising the prompt responses of the ministry's staff in the embassies of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad with citizens regardless of the types of problems they face.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this high honor reflects the follow-up of other countries with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, expressing pride in the values and objectives of this award and its implementation of the culture of challenge and competitiveness among ministries, institutions and bodies to provide the best services for citizens.
Dr. Shaikha Rana said that this project comes within the framework of the development plans adopted by the Ministry on a regular basis. She expressed appreciation for the continuous follow-up by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, to the digital aspect of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his keenness to provide services with the highest efficiency and quality to achieve the goals of Bahrain Vision 2030 on the diplomatic level.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the criteria and principles adopted by the ITP Group in evaluating the contestants for the award, indicating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' success in accordance with these standards reflects the quality of services that the Ministry continues to provide digitally. She added that the award is also an indication of the remarkable excellence achieved by the Ministry as a result of its digital content, highlighting the role it plays in implementing its e-policy in line with the executive policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Shaikha Rana said that the ministry has achieved a pioneering electronic status specifically due to the continuous efforts of its staff that keeps up with the latest developments in the digital field, including security control and cyber security, in order to fulfill objectives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that this award is indicative of the high levels of quality the Ministry seeks to achieve annually, stressing the the Network Middle East Innovation Award 2018 will further motivate the Ministry to exert more efforts in order to achieve even higher status with the help of its national cadres that aim at representing the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the best possible way.
Dr. Shaikha Rana affirmed her keenness to implement the vision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and activating it in all sectors, adding that this vision, which is in line with the policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a roadmap to establish the work mechanisms of the Ministry in the local, regional and international forums based on sustainability, excellence and competency.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this achievement is evidence of the sustainability of the institutional work of the ministries of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the methodology used to set the strategic plans of its sovereign and service institutions to achieve greater success on the basis of sustainability, leading to the fulfillment of aspirations of the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030.
