GCC Creativity Conference 2016 kicks off

Manama, May 9 (BNA): Under the patronage of the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, and founder of the KHK Mixed Martial Arts team, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the GCC Creativity Conference 2016 was launched yesterday at the Regency Intercontinental Hotel, in the presence of the Youth and sports minister Hisham Al-Jowder,Head of the Representatives' Council's Youth and Sport committee MP Ghazi Al-Rahma, the Governor of the Capital Governorate ShaikhHisham Bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, the President of Arab Science and Technology Foundation Dr.AbdallaAlnajjar and a number of senior officials and academics. Shaikh Khalid stressed Bahrain's pioneering steps in hosting scientific and innovative conferences aiming at developing Bahraini youth skills. He also affirmed that the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has given a great importance to the scientific and technological field. His Highness hailed Bahrain's government led by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister PrinceKhalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, through its plans and strategies for supporting youth His Highness also praised the huge efforts of HM the King's Representative for charity work and youth affairs, President of the Supreme Council for youth and sports, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop initiatives for supporting young people's creativity and innovation in social, cultural and sports fields. His Highness honouredthe strategic partners and the keynote speakers for their cooperation to benefit the youth from a wide range of experiences, and was presented with a commemorative gift from President of Ibtikar Bahrain Society Osama Al Khaja on the occasion. First day activities The President of Arab Science and Technology Foundation Dr. AbdallaAlnajjardelivered a speech in the opening session of the conference in which he expressed keenness to achieve the set goals of the conference regarding supporting GCC innovators, as to develop the productivity in both public and private sectors. Today is the closing session A number of workshops will be held today concerning innovation in entrepreneurship field, creating an environment of innovation and a seminar held by Tamkeen regarding its programs and initiatives to support youth’s creativity and innovation.
