GCC-STAT organises workshop on GSBPM in Bahrain

Manama, May 18 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council Statistical Center (GCC-STAT) in cooperation with the Arabian Institute for Training and Statistical Research is holding a four-day workshop on GSBPM in Bahrain during the period from May 18 to May 21. The workshop that started on Monday aims at bringing together specialists from GCC countries to discuss the concepts of statistics and to view GSBPM in terms of the structure, features and to introduce the advantages of implementing this methodology in the process of official statistics production and raising its quality and efficiency. Participants were introduced to the GSBPM model which consists of nine phases starting from the evaluation of the user's needs to statistical information dissemination. It is noticed that the planning process takes place during the first three phases (identification of requirements, design and construction), while the following five phases are concerned with the production of statistical figures (collection, processing, analysis, publishing, and archiving) along with phase 9 which is the (evaluation). The workshop aims to benefit all staff who work on the collection and dissemination of statistics and official data at the national statistical centers in GCC countries.
