Georgian Prime Minister to name his successor at end of this week

Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 28 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/ The name of the new Prime Minister of Georgia will be known on November 2. Georgian Prime Minister, Bidzina Ivanishvili told journalists on Monday at an interview that he will announce his successor's name on Saturday after consultations with the parliamentary majority. "On Saturday, I will present the Prime Minister, and journalists will know about this," he said. In addition, Ivanishvili said that 'this will be a man and a very good Prime Minister', although it is difficult to speak about his authority in the society. Presidential election was held in Georgia on October 27. After the counting of votes at 3,376 polling stations (90.99 per cent) out of 3,741, the candidate of the ruling 'Georgian Dream' coalition, Giorgi Margvelashvili continues to lead in the Georgian presidential election. The Head of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC), Tamar Zhvania said on Monday at a briefing that Margvelashvili gained 62.09 per cent of votes at these polling stations. According to the CEC's preliminary data, the second place is held by the candidate of the pro-presidential 'United National Movement' party David Bakradze, who gained 21.9 per cent of votes.
