Ghobash: Ministry of Labour is keen to ensure all components of workers' rights system

Abu Dhabi: Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, has affirmed the Ministry's keenness to implement legislation in force in the labour market, and the operational initiatives of the Ministry properly, in order to ensure that workers get their full rights and to ensure the interests of employers at the same time. Ghobash, when he received a delegation from the of Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Qatar, said that workers should receive their salaries in due time and that there should be provision of adequate accommodation for them. The Qatari delegation conveyed the greetings of the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of Qatar to Ghobash, stressing their keenness to take advantage of the expertise of the UAE Ministry of Labour and the exchange of experiences between the two ministries in the field of controlling and regulating the labour market. The Minister pointed out the importance of exchanging expertise and the experience gained by the Ministries of Labour in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States to strengthen cooperation within the system of joint Gulf work, particularly in light of the similarity of the Gulf labour markets, which have witnessed remarkable development. The delegation was briefed on the inspection systems used in the Ministry of Labour and the mechanisms for resolving labour disputes, the Ministry's strategy, and the mechanisms of action in the communication centre affiliated to the Ministry.
