Global Youth Tobacco Survey participants honoured

Manama, Apr.11 (BNA): A ceremony was held in honour of 53 participants who took part in conducting the Global Youth Tobacco Survey Report which targets school students. The Directorate of Public Health organized the honouring ceremony at Dar Rafida. The Ministry of Health organized the Global Youth Tobacco Survey Report in cooperation with the World Health Organisation (WHO), The Atalanta-based The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Ministry of Education. Health Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu’unq attended the event along with Public Health Director Mariam bint Ibrahim Al-Hajeri. Dr. Bu’unq stressed the importance of the Global Youth Tobacco Survey which is conducted every 13 to 15 years to assess the efficiency of the anti-tobacco programmes.
