Government approves financial assistance to flood hit provinces

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) -- The Interior Ministry will provide financial assistance to help flood victims in nine southern provinces which are being devastated by seasonal heavy rain in the region, said Krisada Bunrat, permanent secretary for Interior. Mr Krisada said he has received approval from the Finance Ministry’s Comptroller General’s Department to give fiancial aid of 50 million baht to each of the nine southern provinces which are being hit by severe flood. The nine southern provinces are Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Phatthalung, Yala, Pattani, Trang and Songkhla. He said the financial assistance would enable concerned government authorities to assist flood victims on time. (TNA)
