Govt Asked To Rule Urine Test For All Civil Servants
Samarinda, E Kalimantan, Nov 1 (Antara) - An anti drug national movement in the district of Paser, East Kalimantan, called on the district administration to rule that all civil servants in the regency to under go urine tests
"The test to make sure that all civil servants in the district are free from drug abuses," the movement chairman in Paser Utuh Mahni said here on Thursday.
The call came after the arrest recently of a local civil servant identified as Fr on charge of drug trafficking.
The case of Fr should serve as a warning and it may indicate that civil servants have fallen victims to drug traffickers, Utuh Mahni said.
"In previous drug cases , civil servants were involved only as users but with Fr nabbed as a trafficker causes a great concern to us," he said.
All civil servants from the lowest to the highest ranks should undergo urine test by the District Narcotics Agency , he said.
"We often received unconfirmed reports that there are a number of local officials regularly taking drugs," he added.
The result of the test could be used in considering a promotion of civil servants, he said.
