Govt Develops System To Monitor 10MP Projects

KUALA LUMPUR, March 21 (Bernama) -- The government has developed a system to effectively monitor and coordinate the implementation of 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) projects, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department S.K. Devamany said. He added that the system, which operates from 2011 to 2015, would allow the government to act swiftly should there be any delay in project implementations. "It can be accessed real-time and is also capable of measuring the progress of 10MP plans. The system proves that the government is committed to realising the vision of making Malaysia a high-income developed nation status by 2020," he said in reply to a question from MP Fong Po Kuan. Devamany said the government had also introduced new strategies under the 10MP to strengthen the country's preparedness in terms of education, manpower utilisation and competitiveness ahead of 2020. "Among the strategies are expanding access to vocational training in secondary schools, enacting the Competition Act and creating the Talent Corporation," he said. -- BERNAMA
