Govt Needs To Redesign Public Services

Yogyakarta, Sept 11 (Antara) - The government needs to redesign public services to offer enhanced benefits to the community, noted guest lecturer Christop Behrens at Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University. "Public services are very important for every citizen, and therefore, the government needs to redesign them," Behrens stated during a workshop on public service design on Wednesday. He affirmed that the government has strived to ably serve the community, but many obstacles are still encountered during the implementation process. "Therefore, the government, as the public service provider, needs to understand the preferences, needs, and behaviors of the people who require the services," he remarked. He emphasized that in order to provide efficient public services, there must be good governance in place, which has the support of all parties.
