GPIC employee awarded
Manama, Apr 25 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan presented an Award for Secretarial excellence in the Private sector to Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) employee Tagreed Al-Mahmeed during the opening of the Regional Forum for Secretaries and Administrators held in Bahrain on April 20.The event was themed "Social Media in Office Management Service."
In a statement, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, congratulated the awarded employee and said it was recognition for all of GPIC’s female employees who are part of the competent and professional workforce, having taken part in specialised workshops and training courses.
Dr. Jawahery also spoke about the achievement of all Company employees who receive honours within and outside Bahrain and said it confirms GPIC’s professional approach under the guidance of its Board of Directors, which looks at the rehabilitation and development of human resources. He said workers’ skills and knowledge are necessary to develop methods, principles and skills and to create positive trends in the dynamic industry.
Dr. Jawahery praised the continuous efforts of all employees in accomplishing their tasks quickly and said their ability to manage everything in time and in a professional way is praiseworthy. He called upon all employees to continue to get awards and incentives that bring more recognition to the Company.
Al-Mahmeed has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources from the New York Institute of Technology and has worked for GPIC since 2009. She has attended a number of specialized training courses within and outside Bahrain, which have qualified her to carry out their duties professionally and in line with the aspirations of the Company.
During the forum, which discussed the importance of social media, Al Mahmeed spoke on behalf of the Bahrain Secretarial Association about the importance of social media in business practices as well as the functions of a secretary. She emphasised the Forum’s important role as an opportunity to meet with those working in the field as well an event to gain a more knowledge about secretaries, including developments in the digital world.
She emphasised the universality of electronic communication and its important role in the field, a quantum leap in the field of business and management.
The event saw a review of multiple perspectives of trained academics, psychologists, public relations staff, media professionals and specialists in social media. It also discussed a number of key themes that highlight the advantages of social networking.
