GPIC Youth Committee visits Elderly Home 0

Manama, July8 (BNA): Members of the Youth Committee of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) visited the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) Home for the Elderly on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and as part of the Company’s commitment to social responsibility towards local community groups. The head of the home, Ms. Haifa Al Derazi, received the visitors, who distributed gifts to the elderly. They familiarised themselves with the facilities at the home and its activities aimed at the recreation of the elderly and providing them with a family-like atmosphere where they did not feel neglected. The officials of the home thanked GPIC President, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery and all the Company employees on their humanitarian initiative that reflects the spirit of sharing and giving. They praised the employees’ tireless efforts towards community activities, particularly those aimed at the elderly, for sharing the joy of the festive season. Ms. Al Derazi also thanked the initiative taken by the Youth Committee and said such visits support the work the home is doing. She said the support from GPIC is not surprising since it is known to come out to help the most vulnerable categories of society. The home provides various aspects of social, health and psychological care as well as living and entertainment services for the elderly, both men and women. It also provides care, rehabilitation and treatment of the elderly in their own homes.
