Hamdan bin Zayed gives directives to send emergency assistance to Afghanistan landslide victims

Abu Dhabi (WAM): H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA), under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow up of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of U.A.E. Armed Forces, has given directives to send emergency aid to the victims of a series of landslides that killed more than 2100 people yesterday in the north-east Afghan province of Badakhshan. The RCA's emergency disaster relief for Afghanistan includes food, health care, tents. RCA's emergency aid to Afghanistan is part of U.A.E.'s firm approach to providing help for disaster-hit people around the world. The massive landslide triggered by heavy rain buried more than 2100 people, displaced more than 4000 and destroyed more than 1000 houses in Ab-e-Barak, a village in the Argo district of Badakhshan Province.
