HBKU Wraps Up First Edition of Global South Evaluation Research Conference

Doha, November 10 (QNA) - The College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) concluded the first edition of the research conference titled: ‘Evaluation in the Global South: Looking to the Future’ with the participation of over 50 speakers from more than 30 countries and 16 partners. The interdisciplinary researchers, academics, professionals, and students tackled the latest researches, during the conference, that aims to be one of the first-of-its-kind conferences to go further beyond the limits of the western evaluation and offers a real image for evaluation research and practices in the global south. The sessions presented an evidence-based modern endoscopy on the evaluation process amid the challenges in pursuit of determining the weaknesses and strengths in the promising evaluation approaches to help determine the timeframe when assessment methods are likely to be more effective. The conference wrapped up after issuing an statement that called on individuals, organizations, governments, parliamentarians, voluntary organizations for professional assessment, United Nations organs, evaluation specialists, academic and private sectors and development sector to enhance the meaningful engagement of youth in research and evaluation processes.
