HE the Minister of Finance and National Economy participates in the opening session of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund

Washington, Oct. 18 (BNA): HE the Minister of Finance and National Economy participates in the opening session of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, participated in the opening session of the annual meetings of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, in Washington, DC. The Annual Meetings were attended by central bank governors, ministers of finance and development, senior officials from the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and academics. Discussions centred on issues of global concern, including the global economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness. The Minister of Finance and National Economy stressed the importance of these meetings and the associated seminars and side meetings in facilitating wider economic cooperation and partnerships. HE the Minister outlined the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in these meetings because of its firm belief in the importance of international cooperation and partnership.
