Health fair to be organized at canal along Bangkok's Government House

BANGKOK, January 31 (TNA) - The Public Health Ministry will organize a health fair at the Padung Krungkasem Canal along Bangkok's Government House next month, when health products will be displayed and sold to international visitors who will also be offered either modern or traditional medical services. Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs to Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha Renu Tangkajiwangkura and Deputy Permanent Secretary for Public Health Dr. Kiattibhoom Vongrachit told a press conference on Tuesday that the "Healthy City, Thai Styles" event will be held at the Padung Krungkasem Floating Market along the Government House during February 6-26, from 10am to 7pm. The two senior officials said that the 27-day event is aimed to boost confidence in Thai health services offered by the country's health service providers to their targeted groups in both Thailand and abroad. According to the senior officials, the event will also promote and publicize the wisdom of the traditional Thai medicine for public interest and national economic development in line with the Thai government's policy on the promotion and prevention of diseases. The senior officials revealed that the 27-day fair will be divided into several zones, including seminars on stage, modern and traditional health services, medical check-ups, where eyes check-ups and flu vaccinations are available for the public free of charges, and marketing activities.
