HH Shaikh Isa’s voluntary work award praised by students

Manama, July 27 (BNA): Heads of students’ councils in Bahraini universities have stressed the importance of training and rehabilitating Bahraini youth in order to participate effectively in serving their society, affirming that the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work has contributed to encouraging various voluntary work initiatives, and to shedding light on youth’s voluntary projects. Abdulla Shawqi Al-Mannai, Head of University of Bahrain (UoB)’s student council, said that voluntary work reflects societies’ progress, noting that youngsters, the generation of the future, should adopt such humanitariian habits. He pointed out that his team’s winning of the award has encouaged them and helped them to expand their activities and establish the first GCC vountary educational platform, A Academy. Head of the Kingdom University’s student council, Mohammed Bader Budawas, indicated that voluntary work is essential in consolidating youth’s social role in advancing their communities. He pointed out that he had taken part in voluntary projects launched by his university, citing the «Ramadan Basket» aiming to support needy families, stressing that the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work is a unique initiative that honours voluntary projects. Abdulhadi bin Saleh Al-Qahtani, Head of the Applied Science University’s student council, affirmed that voluntary work is deep-rooted in Bahrain, which, he said, makes Bahrain a regional ad international leader in this field, noting that voluntary work is an integral part of the Bahraini identity and society. He emphasised that the award has contributed to honouring voluntary work pioneers. The distribution ceremony of this year’s edition of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work, organised by the Good Word Society in conjunction with the Arab Voluntary Work Day 2018 in September, will be held in Bahrain.
