HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali's voluntary work award winners announced

Manama, Sep. 13 (BNA): The organising committee of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work has announced the winners of the 2019 edition, including influential Arab voluntary work pioneers. The committee’s chairman and President of the Good Word Society, Hassan Bu Hazza, stressed that the honouring of Arab voluntary work pioneers on an annual basis reflects Bahrain’s leading role in supporting voluntary and humanitarian work through its keenness to shed light on positive initiatives that serve Arab societies in various fields. He pointed out that the award has placed the kingdom on the map of Arab voluntary work, and stimulated Arab cooperation in the voluntary work field. He added that HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali’s patronage of the award proves the interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s leadership in voluntary work, which is the incubator for developing youth’s capabilities and skills, noting that the award paves the way for exchanging successful voluntary work experiences across the Arab world. He indicated that award-distribution ceremony will be held on September 16, and that 14 voluntary work pioneers from 13 Arab countries will be honoured. The Arab League will participate in the ceremony, which will be held on the sidelines of Bahrain’s celebrations of the Arab Voluntary Work Day, and attended by many Arab personalities. The honouree list includes former speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani and former Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowdar (Bahrain), Advisor to the Saudi Royal Court and Supervisor-General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, (Saudi Arabia), HH Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi (Ajman, UAE), Mohammed bin Al-Zubair (Oman), Dr. Amal Jamal Suleiman (Egypt), Salwa Al-Sayyed Ayoob Al-Khalil (Lebanon), Dr. Bashir Abu Ajeela Al-Qanttari (Libya), Dr. Muwaffaq Sajit Sameer (Iraq), Ismail Mujahid (Algeria), El-Yes Al-Zain (Tunisia), Michael Al-Qams Philo Thous (Sudan), Dr. Dr. Ma al-'Aynayn Taqiuallah (Morocco) and Safiya Mohammed Yahaya Al-Azizi (Yemen). The 9th edition of the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work is sponsored by Tamkeen, Al-Salam Bank, BAS, GPIC, VIVA and Al-Baraka Group.
